Dear Friends of GrowFood.org and Organic Volunteers,
After many great years, we have decided to take GrowFood.org offline. We launched this website in 2001 to help a new generation of farmers find internships and gain hands on experience in sustainable agriculture. Our network grew to over 2500 farms in 57 countries. We have been excited to see the new young farmer movement grow up around us. We connected thousands of people with farms and influenced farm internship networks and WWOOF programs globally. We were the first to use a searchable online database and a host review system. These are now common features, but they added important ease of use and transparency that allowed these programs to flourish.
Our latest project is Viva Farms, a farm incubator in Washington State that helps farm workers become farm owners. If you’re ready to start a farm or if you want to support a great organization, please check it out!
If you’re looking for a farm internship or job, we recommend the following sites:
If you are interested in using the GrowFood.org or OrganicVolunteers.com domains for a cool project, please contact us using the form below.
Finally we would like to thank all of the people, farmers and organizations that have supported us over the years. We can’t list them all, but here’s a few we’d like to call out:
